recovery shop in frazier, chester county yesterday. a suspect was taken into custody a short time later. november 18, 8-year-old was walking home from school with her siblings when she was hit at 6 #rd and land down and thrown 90 feet. they -- she later died at chop. "action news" spoke to the family after learning that a driver was in custody. >> with the community helping us and my family helping us, it is helping. we're taking it one day at a time. >> reporter: we should clarify we're not sure if it is the driver that's in custody. powell's family did come forward with the plea and the help of the mayor and the fop and own family raised a significant
amount of money for a reward. we wonder what that part played into it. police are giving credit to the community for making the arrest. reporting outside police headquarters, back to you. >> a woman died in a smash up accident in west philadelphia she was broadsided by a car carrying two men fleeing from police. they hit her carat 52nd and locust at 7:15. police were chasing the two men wanted in connection with the shooting at 24th and westminster street. police arrested them after they slammed into the woman. >> reporter: in the rear of the character car was a 9-millimeter handgun with the extended magazine. the evidence around the accident scene and the car was looked at. there were several gunshots to the car. >> atlantic county authorities
